COVID-19 COUNTRIES’ UPDATES

Andes World Travel’s aim is to provide updated information regarding the policies/restrictions/requirements in place in each country we operate in. Because of constant flow of information and permanent modification of the requirements, due to the changing nature of the pandemic. We will try to provide accurate and up-to-date information, but nevertheless we encourage all travelers to double check the information and research the requirements for: boarding flights, stop overs and/or change of flights and leaving/returning policies in your home country.
It is each traveler’s own responsibility to be well-informed and fulfill all the needed requirements for the trip.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR COLOMBIA:
– From February 1st, 2022 it is mandatory for all visitors and resident arriving in Colombia and who are over 18 years old to present a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate with the last dose administered at least 14 days before travel.
Here is a list of the vaccines that are approved approved by the Colombian authorities.
– Travelers with an incomplete vaccination scheme or non-vaccinated, must have a negative PCR test taken within 72 hrs before arriving in the country or an antigen test taken no more that 24 hours before departure.
– If you have any symptoms and test positive for COVID-19, you must be quarantined for 7 days. You can stay in a hotel of your choice or any other accommodation where isolation can be guaranteed.
– MIG Health – Fill in and print form: Each single traveler arriving to Colombia MUST register 24 hours before their flight filling the MIG health information form and print it out or have a digital copy in the phone/computer/tablet. This must be shown before checking-in at the departure airport and then at the immigration officer upon arrival in the country.
NOTE: this procedure MUST be done once again and with the same timeframe PRIOR to departing the country.
– Starting March 1st, 2022, any destination that has reached its 70% of complete vaccination and 40% of boost dosis, will not be required to use face masks on open spaces. Nevertheless, it is still required on public transportation, air and bus terminals and health institutions. In closed spaces, it is still recommended to use a protective face mask.
– As per Presidential Decree 1408, starting 30 November, for anyone 13 years old and above will be mandatory to show a vaccination card or digital certificate to access public or private events involving mass attendance like: bars, gastro bars, restaurants, cinemas, nightclubs, dance venues, concerts, casinos and leisure activities, as well as sports venues, amusement and theme parks, museums, and fairs.
Accepted documents: Vaccination cards (must show evidence of at least the first dose) Vaccination digital certificate (must show evidence of at least the first dose. If the vaccination was carried in Colombia, you can download the certificate online Anyone 0 to 12 will be exempt from this requirement
– Local restrictions: Due to the epidemic, there are some places that have implemented temporary local restriction in different parts of the country.
NATIONAL PARKS & LOST CITY TREK:
– Due to the National government decision, it is mandatory for anyone entering any National Park and/or doing the Lost City Trek to present a vaccination certificate.
– IMPORTANT: More restriction might come up, please check before traveling.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ECUADOR & GALAPAGOS’ ISLANDS:
– Travelers over 3 years old must present a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate with a QR code, validating the complete vaccination administered at least 14 days before travel. Under 3 years old are exempt from this requirement. (Applies to the mainland, and the Galapagos Islands).
– For travelers who are not vaccinated, must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test or antigen test performed up to 72 hours before boarding the flight, this applies for travelers over 3 years oof age. Under 3 years old are exempt from this requirement. (Applies to the mainland, and the Galapagos Islands).
– Travelers that show COVID-19 related symptoms on arrival, must take a rapid antigen test. If the result is positive, the traveler must self-isolate for 10 days.
– For previously COVID-19 infected travelers, if after 30 days the traveler is still with positive PCR results, the traveler must present a medical certificate from their country of origin stating that they are no longer contagious. Also must not present any symptoms to be able to enter Ecuador.
– Everybody entering mainland Ecuador by air must submit the Traveler’s Health Declaration. This may be printed out or have a digital copy to be shown upon arrival in the country.
– The use of face masks it is no longer mandatory in all public spaces, indoor nor outdoors, in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Nevertheless, we advise traveler to bring some masks along, as places and people may have different interpretations of the current law and may ask to wear it in for example a badly ventilated place.
– Anyone who presents symptoms during the flight on arrival will be evaluated by the Health Ministry representatives prior to accessing the migration area.
– Any passengers presenting COVID-19 related symptoms will be denied entry to the Galapagos Islands.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR PERU:
– Passengers 18 years old and over entering Peru must prove that they have completed the COVID-19 vaccine with three (3) dosis applied fourteen (14) days before boarding the flight at its point of origin OR need to provide a negative molecular test (PCR). PCR test results must be obtained no later than 48 hours before your flight.
– Passengers 12 to 17 years old and over entering Peru must prove that they have completed the COVID-19 vaccine with the first and second dosis applied fourteen (14) days before boarding the flight at its point of origin OR need to provide a negative molecular test (PCR). PCR test results must be obtained no later than 48 hours before your flight.
– Children under 12 years old must not present noticeable symptoms of COVID-19 to take the flight
– Anyone who shows COVID-19 symptoms on arrival in Peru, including those under 12 years old, must be isolated.
– Passengers need to wear two face masks or just one KN95 mask
– Passengers must complete the electronic Sworn Declaration of Traveller’s Health (Declaración Jurada de Salud del Viajero) prior to arrival.
– Entry is prohibited for travelers coming from or having made a stopover in South Africa or Botswana.
– Starting on December 10th, the requirement for local flights is the signature of a sworn statement indicating that the traveler does not have symptoms of COVID-19 in addition to a negative PCR test results OR the completed the COVID-19 vaccination card.
– If while in Peru you test positive, you will have to self-isolate. You may end quarantine if you take an antigen test and the result is negative.
– These rules are subject to change at short notice.
Nationwide regulations:
– The use of a KN95 mask or, alternatively, a 3-fold surgical mask with a fabric mask, is mandatory for being on public roads and in enclosed spaces.
– To board the train service to Machu Picchu (and return) the use of a face shield is required.
– We remind the population to frequently wash their hands and keep social distance.
– Before boarding buses, all passengers ages 45 or older must show a vaccination card with the completed required doses. Otherwise, they will not be able to travel.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ARGENTINA:
1. – All travelers to Argentina (including those in transit to another country) must fill in an electronic & Health declaration form within 48 hours of traveling.
Remark: Those that enter the country by land and for a period of time of less than 24 hours, do not requiere to fill the Health declaration form.
2. – All non-resident foreign nationals with authorization from the Argentine Migrations Office to enter the country must have medical insurance with comprehensive cover for coronavirus, including hospitalization and the costs of self-isolation if required.
Remark: Those that enter the country by land and for a period of time of less than 24 hours, do not requiere this insurance.
– Recommendation: If you are not fully vaccinated, it is recommended that you take a PCR test 24 after entering the country. In case of a positive result, please inform the health authorities.
ACONCAGUA PROVINCIAL PARK – RESTRICTIONS 2021-2022 SEASON: NOT UPDATED YET
The park authorities have decided to restrict ascent to the mountain and these are the guidelines:
– Only allowed ascension route: Normal route by the Horcones Valley
– The season has been shorten: January 1st to February 15th 2022
– Last entry day to the park is on January 31st 2022
Requirements:
1. – Insurance with coverage for: rescue, evacuation & medical assistance (Global Rescue is recommended)
2. – Insurance that covers COVID
3. – Affidavit stating if you have had Covid 19, sequelae and / or complications
4. – Complete vaccination scheme with the date of application of the last dose, at least 21 days before entering the Park.
5. – Affidavit where each person expressly states that he/she accepts the condition of close contact.
6. – Medical Certificate of Physical Fitness for high performance activities.
7. – A quick antigen test will be requested 72 hours prior to the entrance to the Park, this applies for climbers and long distance trekkers, and at own expenses.
8. – If you have had Corona, must show evidence of your diagnosis (the positive test) and a medical certificate issued at least 10 days after being diagnosed, confirming that you have a clean bill of health.
