ITINERARY
Day 1

Arrival in Lima, Peru
Pick up at airport and transfer-in to hotel in Lima.
Night in hotel.

Day 2

Travel to Paracas
In the morning, transfer to the bus station in Lima for your 4 h long journey along the Peruvian coastline on a tourist bus bound for Paracas.
Upon arrival in Paracas, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 3

Ballestas Islands & Mountain bike in the Paracas National Reserve
Morning boat tour to the Ballestas Islands.
Pickup from hotel around 8 am. The morning tour is a 2 hour boattrip where we will visit the Ballstas island. From the boat we can observe the wild life of Ballestas, that consist of: Sealions, tendrils, boobies, pelicans, penguins and more than 200 birds (migratorians and endemics)
During the trip we will pass by “El Candelabro”. It’s a impressive figure painted in the sand and its origin (a well as the Nazca lines) is unknown.
Remember to bring a jacket as the mornings can be chilly.
Return to Paracas around 10:20.
Around 11 AM, after a short break for a coffee or snack, we will do another tour to visit the Paracas Natural Reserve by mountain bike. It’s a private tour with local guide. Visiting the desert by bike is the absolutely best way as the climate is warm and windy and its relatively flat. Along the way there will be several photo opportunities and its possible to observe Flamingos and the beautiful desert landscapes. As it’s a private tour, the length and strength depends entirely of the clients and their physical shape. Return to Paracas after lunch.
In the afternoon, travel to Nazca by bus. Meeting by staff and transfer to hotel.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 4

Nazca Lines, Cahuasi Pyramids and the Cantalloc Aqueducts
Overflight of the Nazca Lines: The timing of this overflight depends on weather conditions to ensure optimal visibility and safety, so please note that the order of activities may be adjusted on short notice. The Nazca Lines are a breathtaking collection of geoglyphs carved into the desert by the ancient Nazca civilization. From above, you’ll have the unique opportunity to capture photos and videos of these iconic figures.

Afterwards, embark on a private tour of the Cahuachi Pyramids and Cantalloc Aqueducts. Cahuachi served as the capital of the Nazca culture from approximately 200 BC to 450 AD. This ceremonial center held immense cultural and religious significance until it was damaged by an earthquake and later buried in sand after a tsunami. Some of the pyramids have been carefully restored, while archaeologists continue to uncover and study others.
Conclude with a visit to the Cantalloc Aqueducts, a remarkable hydraulic system ingeniously crafted by the Nazca people. Still in use for agriculture today, this ancient network stands as a testament to the Nazca’s impressive engineering capabilities and deep understanding of their environment.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 5

Visit the Chauchille Cementary. Travel to Arequipa
Chauchilla Cemetery, discovered in the 1920s, features a series of mud-brick tombs containing the mummified remains of the Nazca people, dating from approximately 200 to 900 AD. Remarkably, despite being over a thousand years old, many of the mummies still have skin and hair intact. This exceptional preservation is due to both the ancient mummification techniques and the arid climate of the Peruvian desert.

In the afternoon, you’ll travel by executive bus to Arequipa, arriving in the late evening. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for a restful night.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 6

Arequipa City tour with Santa Catalina and Andean Sanctuaries Museum
Arequipa, nestled in the Peruvian Andes, is a captivating city known for its striking white colonial architecture, earning it the nickname “The White City.” As Peru’s second-largest city, it also held the title of the nation’s capital from 1835 until 1883.

This three-hour city tour begins with your guide picking you up from your hotel in town. You’ll start by visiting the scenic viewpoints of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the city and its volcanic backdrop. From there, stroll through the charming colonial streets, exploring historic sites such as the churches of San Francisco and Santo Domingo.

A highlight of the tour is the Monastery of Santa Catalina, an architectural gem built in the 16th century and opened to the public in 1970. This monastery is one of the city’s most treasured landmarks, with beautiful courtyards, narrow alleyways, and historic artwork (entrance to Santa Catalina is included).

Following this, you’ll visit the Andean Sanctuaries Museum, home to the famed “Juanita, the Ice Maiden.” Discovered in near-perfect preservation, Juanita is the museum’s most renowned exhibit. Before exploring the collection, you’ll watch an introductory video on the research and discovery of Juanita, setting the stage for your visit. The museum also features a fascinating display of 550-year-old Inca artifacts, offering insight into the region’s rich cultural heritage.

The trail begins with a gentle ascent toward the village of Cosñirhua (2,600 m). Here, we will pause to enjoy a refreshing fruit juice, visit a small guinea pig farm, and, if needed, purchase additional water.
Our journey continues to the picturesque village of Malata, known for its terraced fields where locals cultivate alfalfa, broad beans, pumpkins, avocados, cherimoyas, figs, and prickly pears. The village also features a charming 17th-century church. In both communities, the inhabitants take great pride in preserving their ancestral traditions and maintaining a rustic, welcoming atmosphere where daily life remains deeply connected to Pachamama — Mother Earth.
From Malata, the trail descends steadily toward the Colca River, a walk of approximately 40 to 50 minutes. After crossing a small bridge and continuing for another 15 minutes, we reach Sangalle (2,100 m), where our lodge is located.

Perched at 2430 meters above sea level, it offers spectacular views of the surrounding Andean landscape and the Urubamba River below. The site showcases extraordinary Inca engineering with over 150 structures—temples, terraces, fountains, and royal tombs—crafted using precise stonework techniques that required no mortar. Key highlights include the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Intihuatana stone, and the Temple of the Condor.

Beyond its architectural brilliance, Machu Picchu reflects the deep spiritual and cosmological beliefs of the Inca civilization. Its layout aligns with astronomical events, such as solstices and equinoxes, and reveals a profound respect for nature and the cosmos. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu stands as a powerful symbol of Peru’s cultural legacy.
