Our trekking and light trekking programs in the Andes are designed for the active traveler – those looking for challenges as well as those who like a bit more comfort.
TREKKING PROGRAMS
Andes World Travel offers Trekking programs that focus on the active part of the trips, with demanding hiking days, many nights in tents or mountain refuges, rough terrain and, in some cases, high altitude. These itineraries are ideal for people who are looking for physical challenges, but are not aiming for summits or technical ascents.
We have put together our programs by selecting the best locations and available itineraries based on our experience and knowledge of the areas. We provide qualified staff, quality services in each specific area, and all logistics for the programs.
LIGHT TREKKING PROGRAMS
Our Light Trekking programs are a mix of active, cultural and nature experiences. We have tried to find a balance between both interests to provide a broad experience for the traveller. The itineraries are designed so that most of the trekking days are of only moderate difficulty, lasting between 3-5 hours, including rests and lunches.
In most cases the lodging will be in authentic farms, lodges, or hostels. In places where these services are unavailable, we will stay in campsites –trying not to exceed more than 2-3 nights throughout the entire program. We have included comfortable resting places and cultural activities in between the more active parts of the trips.
The Light Trekking trips are recognizable by the initials “LT” after the trip number.
