Day 7 Departure

ITINERARY
Day 1

Arrival in Cusco & Sacred Valley Tour with Pisaq and Ollantaytambo
Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be met and transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region that was of great importance to the Inca civilization. Nestled between Cusco and Machu Picchu, the valley enjoys a temperate climate and fertile lands that have long supported agriculture. For the Incas, it also served as a strategic trade route to the Amazon, enabling the exchange of tropical fruits and medicinal plants.

Your private tour begins with a visit to the Pisac Archaeological Site, an impressive Inca complex perched on the mountainside. The site features remarkable stonework and a series of agricultural terraces that reflect the ingenuity of Inca engineering. Afterward, explore the Pisac Market, a vibrant gathering where local communities trade produce, textiles, and crafts. It’s an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in regional culture—and perhaps find a few unique souvenirs.
Continue the journey to Ollantaytambo, a charming town and one of the few remaining places where people still live in the original Inca structures.

Visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, an imposing archaeological site with immense terraces, finely carved stonework, and sweeping views of the valley. According to legend, the site is named after the warrior Ollanta, who defied the Inca nobility for love. Highlights include Hanan Huacaypata, an area of refined stone structures believed to have been of ceremonial or administrative importance.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 2

Visit to Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu, rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911, is one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. Built in the 15th century under Inca emperor Pachacútec, this mountain-top citadel is believed to have served as a royal estate, religious sanctuary, and astronomical observatory. Perched at 2430 meters above sea level, it offers spectacular views of the surrounding Andean landscape and the Urubamba River below. The site showcases extraordinary Inca engineering with over 150 structures—temples, terraces, fountains, and royal tombs—crafted using precise stonework techniques that required no mortar. Key highlights include the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Intihuatana stone, and the Temple of the Condor.

Beyond its architectural brilliance, Machu Picchu reflects the deep spiritual and cosmological beliefs of the Inca civilization. Its layout aligns with astronomical events, such as solstices and equinoxes, and reveals a profound respect for nature and the cosmos. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu stands as a powerful symbol of Peru’s cultural legacy. Visiting the site is a journey into the heart of Andean history, spirituality, and ingenuity.

Machu Picchu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

After an early breakfast, board the first train to Machu Picchu Town. From here, take the bus up to Machu Picchu to experience the site. A 2-hour guided tour will take you through the most iconic areas of the citadel, as your expert guide shares insights into Inca history, engineering, and daily life within this majestic sanctuary nestled in the Andes.
Following this unforgettable visit, return to Aguas Calientes and board the train back to Ollantaytambo, continuing your journey through the Sacred Valley.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 3

Inca Innovations and Andean Traditions: Day Tour to Maras, Moray & Chinchero
Today’s excursion takes you through some of the Sacred Valley’s most intriguing and picturesque sites, offering a deeper understanding of Inca ingenuity and Andean heritage.

Begin with a visit to the Maras Salt Flats, a stunning patchwork of terraced pools used to extract salt since pre-Columbian times and still active today. Your guide will explain the historical and cultural significance of this photogenic site, where salt harvesting continues using traditional methods.

Continue to Moray, an archaeological site unlike any other. Its circular terraces form a striking amphitheater-like shape carved into the earth. Experts believe this site served as an agricultural laboratory for the Incas, who used its varying microclimates to experiment with crop cultivation.

Then visit Chinchero, a highland village considered by locals to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. Explore the 17th-century colonial church built atop Inca foundations and stroll through the lively market—particularly colorful on Sundays—where artisans from surrounding communities gather to sell textiles and crafts.
In the afternoon, return to your hotel in Cusco.

*The order of the visits may change.
Included meals: Breakfast

Day 4

Cusco city tour (half a day)
Private services
Time to explore magical Cusco! This beautiful city has an interesting history, both from Inca and colonial times. You start this half-day tour at Cusco’s main square, which was called Huacaypata (Warriors Square) by the Incas. While the guide tells you more about the history of this special place, you can admire the city’s cathedral which was built between 1560 and 1664 with the red granite stones from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The cathedral is without doubt one of the most impressive buildings in Cusco, and not only from the outside: the historical buildings host one of the most significant collections of gold and silver work of the colonial period.
Next, you continue to Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo. The convent was built on top of the most important Inca temple dedicated to the worship of the sun, with walls covered with gold leaf. Wandering through the streets of what once was the capital of the Inca Empire, you feel like you are travelling through time. After exploring Cusco, you head to the nearby ruins, such as the Sacsayhuaman Fortress with its immense temple walls made out of huge stones constructed in a zigzag pattern; the red fort Puca Pucara; the Qenko Amphitheater, and Tambomachay, the Inca baths. Full of new knowledge about the history of the Incas, you return to your hotel in Cusco.
