Juan Carlos Gonzalez is the Co-founder and Co-owner of Andes World Travel and had been active in the tourist industry for almost three decades. He started working as a mountain guide and tour-leader, traveling extensively in most of South America, Nepal, India, Central Asia, Africa, and Europe.
In 2011 Juan Carlos established Andes World Travel, in his native Colombia, with his partner Sine Madsen. Since the beginning, he’s been actively designing itineraries, especially those related to mountain activities in remote areas, and coordinating the logistical operations based on a solid background gained during many years on the field.
Juan Carlos works in marketing promoting the company, establishing new relations with potential customers, attending the international tourist fairs and events, and constantly developing new products and exploring interesting new destinations for a constantly changing market.
He is also the manager for the mountain logistics where safety, proper acclimatization, and collaboration with the local communities is the core aspect.
He speaks fluent Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Danish.
Sine Madsen

Sine Madsen is the Co-founder and CEO at Andes World Travel.
Sine has been in the tourism industry almost her entire adult life and has a great understanding of the business due to a wide experiences ranging from organizing tailor-made tours in Spain, Airbnb Rentals, and, since 2011, the CEO at Andes World Travel.
She is Danish-born but has been living abroad since 2002, first in Spain, and from 2011 in Colombia. After traveling most of the continent and gathering first-hand experience, she established Andes World Travel together with her business partner, Juan Carlos.
Sine is the daily administrative leader, as well as the CEO at the company. She has focused on developing most of the nature and culture destinations in Colombia, Ecuador, Galapagos, and Peru. In recent years, she has introduced more sustainable practices in Andes World Travel, and is very passionate about sustainability in the tourism industry and climate-friendly traveling.
Her passions are many and include: nature, wildlife, hiking, playing tennis, music and traveling, and experiencing the Latin World.
She speaks fluent Spanish, English and Danish.

Lina is a passionate adventurer with a deep love for the outdoors, a commitment to sustainable travel, and a keen interest in local cultures and indigenous traditions. With a background in Anthropology and Philosophy, she brings a unique perspective to her work in tourism, blending her academic insights with her hands-on experience in digital content strategy and customer service.
A native of Colombia, Lina’s connection to her homeland runs deep—she’s been exploring its mountains and climbing destinations since her teenage years. Over the years, her travels have taken her around the world, allowing her to appreciate the diverse beauty of our planet’s natural wonders.
At Andes World Travel, Lina supports our marketing and logistical operations in Colombia. Her focus is on curating unforgettable experiences for visitors while ensuring that each trip aligns with the company’s values of sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, with a basic understanding of German, Lina is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between travelers and the places they visit, all while supporting local communities and preserving the natural beauty of Colombia.

Deeply interested in traditional crafts, ancestral trades, and artisanal knowledge, she sees tourism as a powerful tool to promote education, awareness, and dialogue around heritage and responsible practices, creating genuine connections between travelers and local communities.

Lady is a tourism professional with more than seven years of experience in the travel industry, specializing in strategic communication, customer experience, and travel operations. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with international travelers, creating authentic and memorable experiences throughout Colombia. Her background in sales, digital communication, and personalized service enables her to understand the needs of modern travelers and design journeys with care, warmth, and attention to detail.
Passionate about nature, culture, and meaningful travel, Lady enjoys sharing the richness of the Andean landscapes, local traditions, and the region’s diversity. At Andes World Travel, she brings a professional, creative, and dedicated approach, ensuring that every experience reflects authenticity, excellence, and adventure. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
Evelin Ferro Carrasco
Evelin was born and raised in the city of Cusco in Perú, right at the heart of the Inka empire. She studied tourism administration and some of her passions are to enjoy the diverse gastronomy that the country has to offer, as well as traveling and discovering new destinations, which she later apply at work.
She has been working in the tourism industry for about 15 years and have a wide knowledge and experience from the hotel business, airlines and travel agencies.
Evelin is responsible for the organization and logistics of our trips in Peru; taking good care of every detail since her aim is to provide a high level of service to each traveler. In addition, her big concerns are the sustainability and low environmental impact during the operations.

Marcial Vasquez
Marcial Vasquez Amable is in charge of all logistical details for your Ecuador trip. He was educated as a geologist and professional mountain guide, and has a lifelong experience within the tourist industry. He’s also the former director of the Ecuadorian Guide Association, ASEGUIM, and has a huge network of qualified guides, whether it’s for a cultural round trip or for a challenging mountain trip. Besides being excellent at organizing logistical details, Marcial is also a very skilled mountain guide, IFMGA certified and has more than 25 years of guiding experience. With him you are in safe hands on any of the Ecuadorian high peaks.

Rasu Vasquez
Rasu is the Andes World Travel Assistant in Ecuador. Born in Quito, the country’s capital, he is an experienced traveler who has explored South America, Europe, and the United States. He has extensive experience in international tourism, having worked in a variety of roles ranging from dishwasher, cook, and kayak guide assistant in the United States to mountain guide assistant in Ecuador.
Rasu is also a professional sound engineer with a deep knowledge of the culture and music of the Ecuadorian highlands, as well as a strong passion for exploring the nature, history, and cultural heritage of his country. His diverse background and enthusiasm for travel enable him to provide valuable support and authentic local insights to visitors.
He speaks fluent Spanish and English and has a basic knowledge of German.

Fer is the team member who stays in touch with you throughout your land-based Galápagos adventure. With years of experience in Galápagos travel planning, sales, and trip coordination, she is dedicated to designing your ideal experience, answering your questions, and ensuring that every detail is carefully arranged and confirmed before and during your journey. Guests often reach out to her personally to express their appreciation for the seamless and memorable experiences she helps create.
