| Day 1 | Arrival in Bogota Bogotá, the bustling capital of Colombia, is a city where rich history meets vibrant modernity. Nestled high in the Andes at an altitude of 2,640 meters, Bogotá offers a unique blend of cultural experiences, historical landmarks, and a dynamic urban life. The city’s lively atmosphere is complemented by a thriving culinary scene, with a wide array of restaurants offering both traditional Colombian dishes and international cuisine. The vibrant nightlife, with numerous bars, clubs, and live music venues, ensures there’s always something to do after dark. Bogotá’s fusion of tradition and innovation makes it an essential stop for any traveler exploring Colombia. |
| Day 2 | Bogota – Salento Your accommodation is situated on the peaceful outskirts of Salento, offering a serene retreat surrounded by lush nature. Just a short walk from town, you’ll have easy access to Salento’s main plaza and the bustling Calle Real, a vibrant street lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops featuring locally crafted goods. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax and explore the tranquil setting—perfect for unwinding as a family and immersing yourselves in the heart of Colombia’s coffee country. |
| Day 3 | Cocora Valley The length and strength of the tour depends on the physical shape of the visitors and therefore the exact route will be determined together with the guide according to your interests. Whether you are a Nature enthusiast or not, this day is very likely going to be one of the most beautiful memories you will bring back home. A tour of the Cocora Valley offers an unforgettable combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm Colombian hospitality, making it one of the highlights of any visit to this beautiful country. |
| Day 4 | Bike Tour & Waterfalls The tour begins by cycling through the Calle Real and Parque Principal, followed by a 7km controlled descent to the Palestina viewpoint, where your will learn about its history, interact with the community, and enjoy a traditional snack. Then, visit a coffee farm for a sensory experience, including coffee tasting and organic products. Continue on a gentle cycle through coffee plantations and 2km on false flat terrain to reach a rural path where you can enjoy a variety of tropical fruit juices. From there, continue to the Santa Rita Waterfall Farm, home to natural paramo water pools, ideal for swimming and cooling off. Explore the coffee cultural landscape surrounding the farm, where you will discover the fascinating tunnels of an unfinished railway project from almost 100 years ago. At this point you will have the pption to continue uphill for approximately 3.5km to reach Salento, or be taken by car back to town. Activity details: |
| Day 5 | Road Transfer to Medellín As you approach Medellín, the scenery transitions to urban landscapes with the backdrop of Andean mountains. Known as the “City of Eternal Spring” due to its pleasant climate, Medellín offers a dynamic mix of modernity and tradition. Arrival at El Poblado in Medellín. This is a vibrant neighborhood known for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, trendy cafes, and upscale amenities. Parque Lleras stands out as the heart of its bustling nightlife scene, while green spaces provide tranquil retreats amidst the urban buzz. Visitors can explore cultural attractions, from art galleries to museums, and enjoy convenient access to Medellín’s highlights. With its reputation for safety and hospitality, El Poblado offers travelers an inviting base to discover the best of Colombia’s second-largest city. Guests can also spend the afternoon unwinding with some leisure time. |

| Day 7 | Guatape & El Peñol – Río Claro Reserve Guatape is a charming town renowned for its vibrant colors and picturesque streets adorned with intricate zocalos, brightly painted bas-reliefs that depict the region’s history and traditions. Visitors can wander through the cobblestone streets, exploring local artisan shops, cafes, and restaurants offering traditional Colombian cuisine. One of the highlights of a visit to Guatape is ascending the Peñol Boulder, a colossal granite rock formation that rises 200 meters above the surrounding landscape. Embarking on the 740-step staircase carved into the side of the boulder rewards adventurers with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding lakes, islands, and rolling hills. In addition to its natural wonders, Guatape offers a boat tour on the nearby reservoir allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the region’s stunning scenery. In the afternoon, transfer to Rio Claro. Rio Claro Reserve is a private conservation project for the protection of a tropical rainforest in excellent conditions. The rainforest grows over limestone rocks, creating beautiful scenery of biodiversity, accompanied by the clear river water flowing over a splendid marble canyon. Upon arrival, the guide will give you a short introduction to the ecosystem of the forest. There will be free time to enjoy the river. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:Rio Claro: We avoid visiting this area on local holidays and during weekends. If needed, we can change the order of the city tour in Medellín and visit the Rio Claro Reserve on another weekday. |

| Day 9 | Travel to Cartagena Upon arrival in Cartagena, you’ll be met by a staff member for a transfer to your hotel, located in the heart of the city’s historic district. Cartagena is perhaps Colombia’s most beautiful and interesting town. It was founded in 1533 and was, during the colonial period, the main Spanish port on the Caribbean coast and primary gateway to South America. This beautiful city welcomes you with its impressive colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and vibrant atmosphere steeped in history. |
| Day 10 | Cartagena City Tour In the afternoon/evening there will be free time for shopping, and perhaps to enjoy a drink on the old fortress walls, overlooking the sunset on the Caribbean. Activity duration: City tour: 4-5 hours |

| Day 13 | Kayak, Beach, Hike & Bioluminescent Plankton In the afternoon there will be a guided tour in the dry forest. It’s a unique ecosystem, and your guide will explain how the local flora has adapted to survive with minimal rainfall. Return to the lodge for dinner. Depending on the time of the month, you may have the chance to join a magical night tour to witness bioluminescent plankton. This unforgettable experience takes place by kayak, either in the evening or during the early morning hours—timed according to the moon’s position. If you’ve never seen bioluminescence before, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With every paddle stroke or movement in the water, the plankton light up, creating a surreal glow in the darkness. Please note that this tour is not included in the main itinerary but can be easily arranged at the lodge with the hosts. |
